A Trip to Chelmsford in April 25
In March we welcomed five new members which bring the total of the group now to twelve.
We go on trips on the first Friday of the month from April to September. This month we decided to visit Chelmsford.
Eight of us went on the outing. We were very lucky with the weather.
Beside shopping (who doesn’t like a bargain) some went to the Cathedral another took a walk in one of the lovely parks in Chelmsford.
There were lots of restaurants to pick from for lunch. For example, two of the group were impressed with the Pie and Mash restaurant.
We are looking forward to next trip in May.

A Visit To Prittlewell Priory
Prittlewell Priory is a medieval priory in the Prittlewell area of Southend, Essex, England. It was founded in the 12th century, by monks from the Cluniac Priory of St Pancras in Lewes, East Sussex, and passed into private hands at the time of the Dissolution of the Monasteries under Henry VIII. The last private owner, the jeweler R. A. Jones, gave the priory and the grounds to the local council. The grounds now form a public park, Priory Park, and the Grade I listed building is open to the public as a museum. The remains of the priory are a scheduled monument.
